Presented by Mark Weathington, Director, with introduction by Elizabeth Overcash, Director of Education and Public Engagement, JC Raulston Arboretum on September 4, 2025.
Japan is well-known for its meticulous and serene gardens where each element is carefully selected to create a harmonious whole. Japanese specialty nurseries by contrast offer some of the most diverse and unusual plants anywhere in the world. These very different traditions are two sides of the same coin expressed in opposite ways but both fascinating and beautiful.
Join our director, Mark Weathington, as he recounts his travels to Japan when he went plant shopping and as he hosted the 2025 JCRA trip, "Gardens of Japan." This event is exclusively for our Friends of the Arboretum members and their guests. Lecture starts at 6:30 pm with time for connecting with other members after Mark's presentation.
This program was originally presented live in-person and was recorded using a video conferencing service.
