Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney's Animal Kingdom - An On-Ride POV

Avatar Flight of Passage is a 3D flying theater ride located in the Pandora area of Disney's Animal Kingdom. The ride's backstory suggests that humans and the Na'Vi are conducting research to understand how to restore the Ikran / Banshee population. In doing so, you will link with an avatar to fly on an Ikran, a Na'Vi tradition. The ride involves two pre-shows when you'll hear more from researchers in the Pandora Conservation Initiative, including one in which Dr. Stevens (David Danipour) introduces you to the program while assisting you in linking to an avatar through genetic matching. You'll hear from Dr. Jackie Ogden (Alison Blanchard) in the second. Dr. Ogden describes the Rite of Passage ceremony that involves riding the Ikran while explaining its significance to the Na'Vi.

The ride experience is multisensory as it involves sitting on a vehicle that mimics the movements of an Ikran, including its breathing. You'll also wear 3D glasses to immerse yourself in the effects of flying through various landscapes of Pandora. You'll smell its mossy and earthy scents while feeling the mist of flying through its waterfalls. Music on this part of the ride is composed by James Horner and Simon Franglen and copyrighted (c) by Walt Disney Music Company (Publishing), SOLAR Music Rights Management, Adrev Publishing, UMPG Publishing, UMPI.
