I wanted to set up a dual-boot system with Windows 11 Pro and Linux.
While the Windows installation went smoothly, the Linux installer threw an unexpected error: Bitlocker is active!
The strange part? Bitlocker appeared as inactive in Windows Explorer.
In this video, I will show you:
How to check the real Bitlocker status using `manage-bde -status`,
Why Bitlocker might seem disabled but still be active,
How to properly disable Bitlocker with `manage-bde -off C:`,
And why it's essential to check and secure your Bitlocker recovery key after installing Windows.
✅ After disabling Bitlocker, the Linux installation worked perfectly.
⚡ *Pro Tip*: Always check Bitlocker after a fresh Windows install to avoid getting locked out of your data!
