The Violet Lantern Corps, also known as the Star Sapphire Corps, is a group of characters in the DC Comics universe. The origins of the Star Sapphire Corps are connected to the Zamarons, a race of females who empower Star Sapphires.
The Star Sapphire character has been portrayed by several characters, including Carol Ferris, who was the girlfriend of Hal Jordan, also known as Green Lantern. When possessed by the Star Sapphire gem, Carol Ferris gained powers similar to Green Lantern, including flight, a protective shield, and force blasts.
The first Star Sapphire character was created by Robert Kanigher and Lee Elias, and first appeared in All-Flash #32.
