Former Watford, Cardiff City, Wigan Athletic, Ross County and Scotland (for one game) manager Malky Mackay is this week's guest on Coach In Session with Steven Caulker.
Steven and Malky go way back to 2013 when the then Cardiff City manager signed him for a club record fee of over £8 million from Tottenham Hotspur.
In this episode, Malky tells Steven about the lessons he's learned as a coach and how he matured in his management journey. He looks back on his time at Cardiff City and Watford and explores how Graham Taylor helped him as club president in those early days of management. He also explains what it was like to work as Performance Director for the Scottish Football Association and his pride at managing the national side for one game.
Malky talks extensively about his role now at Hibernian as Sporting Director and the value of supporting the club's head coach as well as what the day to day of the job entails as a link between the football side of the club and the board of directors.
