Eglise Saint-Hilarian de Perse, Espalion (12) N44.51749 , E2.77110

L'église de Perse servait d'église paroissiale aux habitants d'Espalion. Dans la charte de 1060, il est écrit qu'elle se trouve in butgo vetulo de Persia (dans le vieux bourg de Perse). Il existait donc un bourg neuf. Une église dédiée au saint Sauveur existait aussi, mais en 1472, les habitants d'Espalion ont obtenu la construction d'une église dédiée à saint Jean-Baptiste à l'intérieur de la ville.
En 1524, l'évêque de Rodez François d'Estaing fait ouvrir le tombeau de saint Hilarian et procède à la translation de ses reliques.

The Persian church served as a parish church for the inhabitants of Espalion. In the charter of 1060, it is written that it is in butgo vetulo de Persia (in the old town of Persia). There was therefore a new village. A church dedicated to the Holy Savior also existed, but in 1472, the inhabitants of Espalion obtained the construction of a church dedicated to St. John the Baptist inside the city.
In 1524, the bishop of Rodez François d'Estaing opened the tomb of Saint Hilarian and proceeded to the translation of his relics.
