Unique Otis High-Speed Traction Elevators - JW Marriott Essex House in New York, NY

Located just south of Central Park on 59th street is the one and only JW Marriott Hotel in NYC, called JW Marriott Essex House. The low-rise elevators that will start of in this video only serve floors 2 through 19 and the high-rise elevators serve floors 19 through 40. Note that there are four low-rise cars, but only three in the high-rise bank. Even though there may be four doors in the high-rise bank doesn't really mean that there are four cars. In other words, one of the doors is fake, just like at the Millenium Hilton Downtown. Also, two of the high-rise cars serve all floors (both high-rise and low-rise) while one only serves floors 19 through 40. The short clip you'll see towards the end of this video will be the newly modernized cab that was done in some cars while some others are still original. They also kept the COP regardless when the cabs were modded.

MY THOUGHTS:
The low-rise elevators are pretty normal in terms of its layout, but the high-rise car is pretty weird. I'm not sure why they would have not one, but two cars serving all floors and one only serving the high-rise floors. I believe the most that they can have is one car that serves all floors and the other two serving only the high-rise floors just to make traffic flow a little better. Other than that, the cab looks pretty nice, especially the modernized ones, and same goes for the fixtures. Not sure what exactly this is, but it looks a lot to me like Dewhurst. Overall, pretty nice elevators, even when the speed isn't that fast.
