Star Spangled Steam Up — Tahoe & Glenbrook Double Header

Held at the Nevada State Railroad Museum on July 4th, 2025, the "Star Spangled Steam Up" brought three remarkable steam locomotives under power:

The historic V&T No. 25

The historic Carson &Tahoe Fluming Co. Glenbrook

The historic Carson &Tahoe Fluming Co. Tahoe, AKA, The No. 5

If you like trains, especially steam locomotives, see if this is a different experience than many train videos. If you weren't there, you should feel like you were.

At the end of this video, watch the special feature of the event, a "double header" with the Glenbrook and Tahoe – an occurrence not seen since the 1890s. While many captured the event, this video shares my personal experience, just because I happened to be there. It's my own "vlogumentary" style.

Now I love connecting with people and their insights. So personally meet many of the incredible volunteers who offered friendly interviews and visitor support, including supervisors, engineers and firemen explaining locomotive controls, brakemen, conductors, and others.

They'll introduce themselves, feed wood into the Glenbrook's firebox, operate rail switches, and work the controls inside the Glenbrook engine cab as they couple up to the Tahoe for the historic double header. I worked to include additional interesting B Roll, establishing shots, and inserts, including round table operations, locomotive details, and traditional "flying wedge" run by's, all hopefully up to your expected standards.

So special thanks to all the volunteers from the Nevada State and Nevada County Railroad Museums who graciously befriended me. I actually miss them.
