Storms brought down this big red oak — but not all the way. It’s tangled, top-heavy, and full of spring poles, making for a dangerous takedown. I’m running the the Holzfforma G372 ,with the ported Husqvarna 395XP on backup. The Kubota B2710 paired with the Merch Max FW8800 winch helps with control, and I’m geared up in Forester chainsaw pants, Milwaukee foam earplugs, and Grease Monkey gloves to stay safe.
The goal? Save every usable saw log from this storm-blown mess before it’s lost to rot or becomes firewood.
