I bought this kayak new in March 2021 and it's been a full 8/12 month weekend warrior season for me and this Hobie compass. Wanted to show you how the modifications I did to it held up (or didn't hold up). Oh and I forgot to mention it in the video but the 180 mirage drive has given me zero issues and is in excellent condition.
Pros: Stable and lightweight, rides comfortably, takes light chop pretty well, and has a smooth pedal drive with 180 ability (reverse), affordable rotomolded Hobie that is modification-friendly
Cons: The seat can feel unstable when leaning forward since it's not locked down, the rudder is flexible, side handles are impractical and make transport difficult, catches wind.
