The Iqamah (إِقَامَة) is the second call to prayer in Islam, recited right before the prayer begins in the mosque. Iqamat is recited after the Adhan to signal those already present in the mosque to stand and form rows for the Salah. The Iqamah, also known as Iqamat or Takbir, is recited in Arabic with its meaning in English often shared for better understanding. Iqamah is shorter and more direct than the Adhan (Azan) and serves as the second call for prayer, letting those present know that the Salah is about to begin.

Iqamah (الإِقَامَة) is the second call to prayer in Islam, given right before a congregational Salah begins.
Iqamat signals that the Jama’ah (group prayer) is about to start, and the worshippers should line up properly. The words of Iqamah are very similar to the Adhan (first call to prayer), but it is said more quickly and includes an extra phrase:
meaning "The prayer has been established."

Iqamah- Ikamah- Iqamat:
Purpose of Iqamah: The Iqamah announces that the Imam is ready to start the Salah, and it signals everyone to stand in straight rows.

When is Iqamah Given:
The Iqamah is called right after the Adhan and just before the congregational prayer begins.

Who Says the Iqamah:
Usually, the Mu’azzin (caller to prayer) says the Iqamah, but in some cases, the Imam himself may say it.

Difference Between Adhan and Iqamah:
The wording of the Iqamah is mostly the same as the Adhan, but it is recited at a faster pace and includes the phrase “Qad qāmatiṣ-ṣalāh” twice.
Iqamah Benefits:
The Iqamah reminds everyone to stand together and get ready for Salah.

Iqaamah helps worshippers focus and prepare their hearts for prayer.

Iqama unites the congregation and encourages starting Salah on time.

The Iqaama follows the Sunnah and brings blessings for those who hear it.

Iqamat signals the official start of the congregational prayer.

Saying the Iqaamat twice increases the awareness that Salah is beginning.

Listening to the Iqamaah from the Mu’azzin motivates early attendance.
