The Hot Boyz was a rap group formed in 1997, featuring Lil Wayne, Juvenile, B.G., and Turk. The name “Hot Boyz” was inspired by a street crew from the Magnolia Projects in New Orleans—hustlers and gangsters who dominated uptown New Orleans during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The original "Hot Boys" crew included Terrence "Gangsta" Williams (brother of Cash Money Records CEO Bryan "Birdman" Williams), Sterling, Mosquito, and Dooney.
Despite their relatively short tenure, the Hot Boyz left an indelible mark on hip-hop and became one of Cash Money Records' most iconic acts. But what exactly happened to the Hot Boyz, and what led to their split?
