In beautiful East Oregon

When you try once and fail, you get back up and try again! That’s what we learned during our first night at Cape Perpetua. This gorgeous location keeps teasing us to come back, but we get rained out every time. (see here: http://bit.ly/camping-vlog-1)

With ready (campground) food and gear for days, we took a pit stop at home and headed for the sunny region of Central Oregon.

🌵In the high desert, there’s a place that’s out of this world! The famous “Monkey Face” rock towers over the jagged volcanic cliffs where mule deer roam, golden eagles soar, and many other beautiful creatures call this place home. The peaceful Crooked River is also home to otters, ducks, and geese. There are no words to describe the beautiful diversity, and natural wonders of Smith Rock State Park, but be careful - there are rattle snakes too!

Come into this world and join us for one of the toughest trails in the region, “The Misery Ridge”, and the breathtaking “River Trail.” The HuskySquad couldn’t get enough of the rugged trails, the resident animals, and the trail snacks we shared overlooking the magnificent views to the far distance of the Cascade Range and Sisters Wilderness.

⛺ In the evenings, we found peace in the tranquil valley of Skull Hollow Campground. It’s further away from the busier campground of Smith Rock State Park. Skill Rock is more primitive, and we had to bring our own water - but the serenity was unmatched! Sleeping under the stars, the scent of wild danky sage, cotton candy clouds, dewey mornings, and the tastiest campground dinners we shared with the Squad - made for the most perfect, unforgettable experience.
