Pakistan test fires ballistic missile as tensions with India ramp up

Pakistan has test-fired a ballistic missile as tensions with India rose over last week's deadly terror attack on tourists in Kashmir.

The surface-to-surface missile has a range of 450km (about 280 miles), the Pakistani military said.

The country's information minister Attaullah Tarar said Pakistan had "credible intelligence" that India was planning to attack it within days.

India, meanwhile, showcased its aerial might by landing fighter jets on an emergency airstrip built along a highway in Uttar Pradesh state.
