Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness Review – A Return to Form or Forgettable?

As someone who spent over 100 hours with Star Ocean 2, I came into Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness with big expectations—and probably a bit of bias. This is my full review as a longtime fan, breaking down whether this modern entry does anything to revitalize the JRPG genre, or if it’s just another forgettable release.

The game aims to modernize the Star Ocean formula, but does it capture the same magic from earlier titles? With real-time battles, sci-fi and fantasy themes, and a single seamless flow between cutscenes and gameplay, it certainly tries to stand out. But is that enough?
