Nicole sits down with her two children to share devastating news: their grandmother, Anita, has been diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. As if the diagnosis weren’t overwhelming enough, Nicole explains that doctors have identified potential genetic markers that could have been passed down to Anita’s children—either Nicole herself or her sister Dani. If either woman tests positive, it could mean that Kat and Martin may also carry the same cancer-related markers. The news hits both kids hard, but Kat struggles the most with the uncertainty and fear of what this could mean for their future. Nicole and Dani both plan to get tested, and if either of them do test positive, their children will have to do the same, which includes Naomi and Chelsea (Dani's two daughters with Bill Hamilton).
Later, Martin pays a visit to Anita, offering his grandmother heartfelt words of love, encouragement, and support as she faces the fight ahead.
