The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36mm 116201 is a warm and rousing take on Rolex's classic automatic men's watch. Originally launched in 1945 for the 40th anniversary of the Rolex brand, the Datejust inaugurated the era of the automatic water resistant watch with an instantaneous jump date. Prestige clients including Winston Churchill and Dwight Eisenhower quickly adopted the soon to be signature Rolex watch.

This Datejust 36 features Rolex 904L stainless steel (highly anti-corrosive) and proprietary "Everose" rose gold. The rose gold alloy is blended in Rolex's Geneva foundry; this metal achieves its rich red intensity thanks to a high copper content and resistance to fading thanks to a high palladium content.

Rolex's Oyster bracelet in steel and rose gold grants this Datejust a sportier appearance than the equivalent model on a Jubilee band. The Oyster clasp features a vertical trigger and an internal "Easylink" quick adjustment system that offers 5mm of trimming or release with no resort to tools.

Inside the Oyster case, which is water resistant to 100 meters, the Rolex caliber 3135 automatic movement keeps the time. This Swiss caliber offers a 48-hour power reserve, stop seconds (hacking), and a quickset date. The movement is a COSC certified Swiss chronometer, and it features both a Breguet overcool hairspring and five-position adjustment pursuant to chronometer recognition.

The pink concentric dial of this Datejust features dramatic concentric metal strakes in a rose gold tone that matches the domed bezel. Arabic numerals with Super Luminova ensure easy reading of the watch at night. The Rolex Cyclops Eye magnifier eases reading of the date by date. At twelve o'clock, the Rolex five-point crown acts as a surrogate for number 12.

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36mm 116201 features a 36mm stainless steel case with an 18k Everose gold bezel surrounding a pink Concentric dial on a stainless steel and 18k Everose gold Oyster bracelet with folding buckle. Functions include hours, minutes, seconds and date. The watch also measures 11.7mm in thickness and 44.2mm from lug-to-lug.
