We spent the weekend at Lake Hartwell in June, 2020, and it coincided with the "Godzilla Dust Plume" from the Sahara Desert! The sailing was amazing - the wind was decent and consistent, almost no other boats on the water, and no bad weather. It was really ideal!
The first day it was very hazy. It felt surreal. The video shows how drab it all felt. The second day was much clearer, and the wind was stronger.
Some of the best sailing weather we've enjoyed yet!
Also, the sail shape is much better after cutting the bolt rope, and we're more confident than ever in 10+ kt winds. We shook out the reef on Day 1, but ended up with 2 reef points in on Day 2. We wanted to relax a little more on Day 2. ;)
