Warren Cole was an expert guideboat builder in Long Lake New York, in the center of the Adirondack Mountains. He build over 200 guideboats during his career. I am the caretaker of this special Warren Cole 16 ft. guideboat commissioned by Henry Abbott for his camp at Long Lake in the late 1890's. After Abbott's passing, my father acquired the guideboat from another Long Lake boatshop in the 1970's. My mother researched the history of Abbott and his guideboat, and this fascinating story is told in this video. This original guideboat with it's history still attracts attention at local boat shows, and presents well, as it is almost 130 years old in 2024. J. Seaman - Green Bay Wisconsin
