About third tone sandhi*
Some words are not affected by this. Basically, it depends on how many syllables (characters) make up the word. If a 2 syllable word that both have the 3rd tone is followed by a 1 syllable word that has a 3rd tone then only the first character has tone sandhi. Please go check out the wiki for more info! I might talk more about this in the future.
