12MP CCD Leica digicam good enough as a travel camera?

What up film family in this video I am here to help you decide if the Lumix ZR1 is good enough as a designated travel camera.

The boring stuff:
12 MP
Full sensor ratio: 4:3
Focal length (equiv.) 25–200 mm
No shutter priority
No aperture priority
Just a bunch of SCN (Scene modes)
Small 6.08 x 4.56mm sensor
Leica version - Leica V-lux 20


The carrying experience:
The ZR1 is a very pocketable camera. Front pocket or side pocket camera even.

One for those cameras that’s no hassle to carry around with you.

This being my first time shooting with the Lumix ZR1
I began messing around with it right away to see what it can do at the airport.
I took shots with it at it most wide focal length audits most tele zoom
Shot with slow shutter speed,
Shot with flash,
Compared them right away via camera but way easier to see difference on computer screen.


The shooting (Experience) and results:
For the shots through the airplane window I put camera in Snow SCN mode

The CCD sensor surprised me again. Oddly enough I sold the ZR1 and D-Lux 3 but these are the same reason I bought the D-lux 4. The CCD sensor on these cameras made me instantly regret no longer having them.

If you like the way these photos came out. I shot via camera -1/4 of a stop.
And in the edit I raised the total exposure. Raise shadows and drop highlights as needed.
This particular helps with the photos with ocean or sky.

I definitely think the Lumix ZR1 is more than enough to use on a vacation trip. It's a note taking camera that can get you vintage feel photos and replace your phone. If you happen to come across it at a Thirft store its definitely worth considering for right now price

Having a digicam as a designated travel photography cam is way more rewarding than documenting on your phone. Phones can be way too distracting.
