POV Night Drive: 2023 Mazda CX-9 Signature!

While it is one of the oldest models in their lineup, the CX-9 STILL stands out with sharp design, a premium interior, and class leading driving dynamics. 🏁 @Alllcarnews Spec Sheet: This 2.5L Turbo 4 gets up to 250HP and 320 lb-ft of torque (434NM) on 93 octane. This is paired to a 6-speed auto gearbox ft. G-Vectoring control and i-Activ AWD. It can tow only 3,500lbs. Fuel economy is… not so good, I averaged 20MPG over 500 miles. 🏁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

+The interior quality and build is a stand out feature of the CX-9, especially in the Signature trim. It truly still feels a class above.

+The chassis is also where Mazda destroys competitors on the CX-9. Fantastic quick and perfectly weighted steering, car like driving dynamics, and tech like G-Vectoring control + are all highlights.

-The downsides? The CX-9 is lacking in interior cargo space; averaging 10 cubic ft less than competitors. It also can only seat up to 7 and the third row is tight on legroom.

The CX-9 is still a wonderful buy if you NEED a solidly built, shockingly handling 7-passenger SUV. But bits here and there inside are showing their age compared to new Mazda products and then comes the big elephant in the room: the ground up new 2024 CX-90 going on sale this year. Choose wisely.
