My narcissistic sister tried to ruin my life — and my family brushed it off like it was a joke.

A little background: I’m the second youngest of five kids. I have two older brothers and one older sister — we’ll call her X. There’s a 5-year age gap between us, so we never really had that “sisterly bond” people expect. Growing up, I always felt like a burden to her. Any time it was my turn to pick the family movie, or basically do anything, she would get upset.
X had control issues as early as nine years old — so you can probably see where this is going.
I’m 18 right now, about to turn 19 (woohoo!), and X turned 24 earlier this year. Her boyfriend (let’s call him Y) proposed to her during a family beach day back in June. He did the whole big proposal setup — giant white letters, rose petals, everything — before we arrived. She was thrilled, said yes, my parents were over the moon, and my older siblings were happy too. (The youngest is only four, so she didn’t really get what was going on.)
