EARLY SUMMER SLIPWAY FISHING AT CUSHENDALL
What a day for fishing and what a dedicated man Andy from Ballymena is! Not one but four rods in, rain and wind lashing us for an hour as this interview was recorded and some nice scenes filmed. Andy had the waterproof trousers too which was an advantage in 45 degree angled rain! Once the rain stopped though, the strong wind was sufficient to dry our working trousers out after 30 minutes.
This is a great scenic spot too, with a wide expanse of open sea, framed on one side by the mountain and the town bay on the other. Would we recommend the fishing here? 100%. A light rig cast into a rising tide might net some surprises and previous experience shows something is always caught here. Though we've never encountered anglers at the far end of the town beach near the golf club, there are some spots there off the rocks by the sea cliffs that might be interesting?
