It is a perfect expression of everything Elvis and Sam had been working towards over the previous twelve months: it's not black and it's not white -- it's just pure rhythm and excitement, taped in the most racially sensitive city in America.
Three guys playing as one. Listen to Elvis' wonderful acoustic guitar playing. Off the cuff, he adds an extra beat in the midst of the song and the band doesn't even flinch.
This is rockabilly at its finest. Economical, spare, driven and sexy. Presley took Junior Parker's original lament and turned it into a anthem of triumph.
