Hartmann's experimental Chamber Concert with clarinet, string quartet and a full string orchestra

The German composer Karl Amadeus Hartmann refused to be confined to any single category as an artist. He did not follow the beaten path but drew inspiration from a wide range of musical styles and movements, constantly seeking new adventures. A striking example of this is his Kammerkonzert for clarinet, string orchestra, and string quartet, composed in 1930. The work is infused with Hungarian musical folklore and was only truly appreciated after the Second World War.

We've played the Kammerkonzert in an arrangement for string orchestra, string quartet and clarinet in 2022. Soloist on clarinet is Olivier Platey.
