Mugen W.I.P showcase: Waluigi

Remember how I said I had some stuff I could show off before? Well this is one of those. I started on this character all the way back in July of 2020, and he was one of my first attempts at making an actual Mugen character, as all I would make before was simple edits and let's face it, recolors, but I wanted to step away from all of that, and Waluigi was a character I was really interested in making as there aren't really that many good versions of him unlike Mario, Luigi, and Wario.

I worked on this character for about a solid year until development slowed in late 2021, and then I started working on him less and less until I stopped working on him pretty much entirely, but recently I remembered him and thought "Maybe it's about time I show him off". As you can tell from the video he is definitely unfinished and could use some polish.

As for why I had stopped working on him, well mostly sprite limitations as I had used the "Pesky Plumber" sprites as I often seem them called, there is enough for your basic Mugen stuff, but for extra stuff that's where it starts to get limited, and I'm not good at spriting, although I did make some custom sprites for him (not sure if they are in the video anywhere), but even with just sprite editing i'm mediocre at best. There is also the fact that it's kinda hard to come up with a moveset for him as he doesn't appear in much outside of spinoffs unfortunately, but I feel like if it weren't for limitations I probably could've overcame that.

So in conclusion, I'm not entirely sure if I'll go back to making this character. It is possible, but I don't have the resources to improve him nor am I really that interested to bring him back, perhaps the Wah man will rise again, but this is it for now. To move away from the gloom, I want to say this: Thank you to all my friends, the ones who have supported this character ever since he was first in development, and the ones who have helped me with coding issues when I needed it, it all means a lot to me. If it weren't for all of you, I wouldn't have gotten as far as I did with him. With all the character knowledge I've gained while working on this character, perhaps this could be the beginning of a new chapter, maybe I can make even better things down the road, who knows?
