First video comparing two citterns from Fylde. The dark Cedar topped one was made in 2006, and the very blonde Spruce top was built circa 2020/21. Both instruments have Sapele bodies. The recording is an entirely untreated mic sound, just the instrument in the room with no EQ or effects.
In this video I play a tune four times and fade between the two instruments so you get a chance to hear each of them playing melody and then accompaniment parts on their own. The tune is a traditional Scottish reel usually known as St. Kilda Wedding.
