Kawasaki Disease: What is it, who gets it, signs and symptoms (and an easy way to remember), diagnosis and treatment along with discussion about complications. Kawasaki disease is a medium-sized vasculitis that leads to fever and mucocutaneous inflammation. This condition can present with a variety of key signs and symptoms (including strawberry tongue) that are important to recognize so that treatment can be initiated. Without treatment, Kawasaki disease can cause devastating complications including myocardial infarction and heart failure.
