Two black masked lovebirds, one is a green personata and one is a black personata. The green personata in this video is also known as the Yellow-Collared Lovebird. Judging from the color, I think this lovebird can still be classified as that type. While black personata is also referred to as mauve personata.
Lovebird personata is a monotypic bird species of the lovebird genus in the parrot family Psittaculidae. According to historical records, this lovebird originates from the Arusha Region in Tanzania and has been introduced to Burundi and Kenya.
According to historical records, the blue personata mutation was originally discovered in wild environments in the 1920s and it is the oldest known color mutation in the lovebird genus. Meanwhile, other color mutations are the result of selective breeding in lovebird farms, such as two cobalt lovebirds that will make mauve (black).
The two black masked lovebirds in this video are the result of breeding by one of the lovebird breeders near our place. By the time this video was made, these two lovebirds had been with us for about 2 years.
