In this video, we're going to explore the impact of Glee and the way it was able to able to do the impossible at the time, sell music digitally. Throughout the video we're going to look at the state of the music business in the past and the changes of music programming has had on the music industry. We're also going to look at the state of the music industry prior to Glee's arrival on the music scene. Following this, the video will look at the way Glee was able to sell digital singles and albums when music sales were on the decline. They were able to chart at a rate unseen before charting multiple singles on the Billboard Hot 100 music charts weekly. Then the way this success was capitalised upon by going on tour and having a DVD based on the tour. Examining the way this musical-comedy was able to defy the odds was a once in a lifetime show creating opportunities for others such as Empire, Star and Pitch Perfect to have their opportunity to shine too.
