Yiquan Testing Power, Featuring Master Dou Shiming Part 2 (Edited by Shifu Changrong Ph.D.)

Master Dou Shiming (1921-1997), is a real Yiquan warrior, a true fighter, famous in the Yiquan martial arts circle, a true fighter that many outsiders are unfamiliar with. He began his Yiquan training under Grand Master Wang Xiangzhai (1886-1963) in 1940. After experiencing the power and force of Grand Master Wang Xiangzhai he was convinced that he should follow the path in this training. He trained everyday for hours at a time. He really enjoyed fighting with top competitors,

and although he was brutal in street fighting, he was very kind and polite in his everday life. This video of Master Dou Shiming is being released for first time on a public platform and is property from the archives Shifu Changrong, Ph.D. This video was recorded in 1993, during the later years of the Master Dou’s life. Master Dou Shiming demonstrates Opening & Closing Testing Power in parallel step with a movement akin to playing an accordion.

Master Dou Shiming performs Rowing Testing Power as if he were sculling water to and fro with his hands.

Here the Master Dou Shiming is perfroming the basic testing power of Yiquan; Push & Pull Testing Power.

Here we have Master Dou Shiming demonstrating Snake Coiling Arms Testing Power. This Testing Power is extremely useful when engaging an opponenet in push hands.

Master Dou Shiming demonstrating Rotational Testing Power as if his hands are moving a large ball in a circular motion.

Master Dou Shiming demonstrating Wave Testing Power which is like a wave in the ocean with an upward and downward motion that can be applied in Yiquan push hands and Combat for downward release of power. This is useful for defending an attacker's blows and hits by striking his arms down.
