Is a plastic surgeon an artist? I hear things on my work like, "you're an artist," but should we take that literally?
Some might argue that plastic surgeons are more like engineers, where we're just trying to create a consistent product over and over.
I'm inclined to think of plastic surgeons as performance artists. We are trying to deliver that beautiful, show-stopping performance every time we go to the operating room.
