“When I started farming – I had a dream that I will create such a model that my next generation will be proud to earn from the farm. Here I am” – Aurobindo Mandal explains his farm model which is like a oasis in the middle of monocropped rainfed paddy fields.
WHH-Welthungerhilfe and its partner organisations, DRCSC and Prasari in the saline coastal area of Indian Sunderbans are supporting West Bengal government’s ‘Matir Srishti Dipanjali’ program by capacitating extension mechanism and community leaders on setting up livelihood models for small and marginal farming community. Nine such models were shared on 7th March, 2024 in a dialogue with those exemplary farmers.
