Hi all, with the forecast of snow I decided to head up to Luton for a few hours to try and capture some wintry footage. It was quite wintry when I arrived with plenty of snowfall and low visability across the airfield. I couldn't film many runway movements as the visibility was very poor, which also made it difficult to film at times.
After an hour or so of filming in blizzard like conditions we decided to head into the airport, warm up and then come back once the visibility had improved; one hour later. We then stayed until the sun came out and the snow had thawed away. The weather conditions certainly gave the airport a challenge with slot restrictions and delays across the board. Some flights were departing 2 hours later than scheduled.
Nearly all outbounds had to also get de-iced at the remote de-icing station of which was one aircraft a time
Definitely an interesting morning watching the airport try to cope with the snow, and once the visibility lifted the wet runway made for some great spray landings and takeoffs!
I apologise for the quality not being as great as usual - Like I said earlier it was difficult to film in these conditions, and especially to get my camera to focus on runway movements. I tried my best and I hope you'll enjoy what I filmed
