Jordy Smith: An Arctic Journey, family life & 20 years on tour I Pack Heavy Chase Light

Jordy Smith is a name you will have heard of. Born in Durban, South Africa, he’s know for power surfing and generally being an aerial wizard. While a World title has so far eluded him, Jordy knows that the journey to getting top spot in the sport is just as important as the destination. This week’s Pack Heavy, Chase Light is all about tenacity and stepping back to see the bigger picture – sure, Jordy hasn’t got a #1 placing just yet, but he’s got a beautiful family, a son who adores him and a career that takes him all over the world with the people he loves. Sounds alright to us.

Season 3 of Pack Heavy, Chase Light sees us venture out into the world (again) to bring you a deep dive into the heads of the people we look up to. In this series, we have conversations with photographers, marketers, skaters, surfers, climbers, creatives and snowboards and ask them ‘Why’. Why have they made the decisions they made? Why do they do the sports they do and why did they pursue the careers they have? Hallvard (Producer) and Sam (Creator) are back at it. Yes, they got their bags pinched in Barcelona, experienced an earthquake in NYC and skied an active volcano in Portland, but would they change anything? Absolutely not.
