Fatty Bear's Birthday Surprise had some new dialogue added to the Windows version, but however that dialogue actually comes from a similar version was made for the DOS operating system on CD-ROM and also packaged with the Humongous Classics Collection. It has the MIDI music and cursors and subtitle colors you recognize from the DOS floppy disk version, but the updated dialogue and sound effects of the Windows version (the emotionless Fatty Bear sure has a habit of always pointing out the obvious in this version!) I also play it using the CoreAudio MIDI system on my MacBook, making the music sound more impressive as a result.
For this I pretty much choose all the optional paths/obstacles, such as giving the puppy a bath and the Scooby-Doo -esque "chase the puppy" bit (which is much funnier in this version!)
