Whitty let out a snort. The two of them had very different ideas as to what they considered a vacation. “Carol, I am a walking doomsday weapon and you are an angel hybrid. I don’t think we are the experts on what is considered normal.”

Carol scoffed and said nothing, continuing up the hike at a slightly faster pace. Whitty smiled on the inside, satisfied with the rare victory. He would take whatever sliver of peace and quiet he could get, even though he knew it would last only for five minutes before something else popped up.

He barely got five seconds in before his senses screamed bloody murder at him.

A red and white figure blurred into his sight for a split second as Whitty crossed his arms just in time to block a ferocious kick, the force sending him crashing straight through the trunk of a tree.

Carol called out his name in a panic as feathery wings immediately sprouted from her back. She shot up into the air in an attempt to put some distance away from the attacker and gain some high ground.

She could only hover for just a moment before that same figure appeared above her. A swift stomp to her head sent her crashing right back down to earth.

“Damn it!” Whitty growled as he burned bright blue, flames erupting from his hands as he shot himself from the tree trunk, incinerating it in the process.

Enraged orange eyes scanned the area before locking onto his attacker. He fired a storm of fireballs, each one reducing whatever in its path to nothing more than cinders and ash.

The figure weaved adroitly around the trees, using the flora to evade the fiery balls of death before kicking off a branch, launching themselves at the walking bomb.

Whitty moved in response, shifting to the side just enough to avoid a kick that snapped the tree behind him in half.

The attacker was unperturbed, using the momentum to launch themselves at their target again.

The two of them engaged in a rapid exchange of blows, high-speed kicks clashing with explosive punches, both with enough raw power to sound like gunshots from a distance.

A flash of light shone in Whitty’s periphery as his attacker suddenly bent backwards, barely avoiding a beam of divine energy which tore through the air between them.

Whitty mentally thanked Carol for the split-second opening as he shot a hand forward, firing a point blank fireball right at the annoying pest...

The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?

Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates. The game is also open source to allow users to mod or simply look through its assets.
