The Brazilian board game sector is currently undergoing a period of
significant development and growth. The following discussion will
explore how our library should approach engagement with the public,
support for the creative industry, and promotion of game designers'
careers. The following question must be posed and given full
consideration: in what manner might other libraries provide assistance
to the cultural gaming scene, considereing our experience and
suggestions?
Although the Institute's library is a special library and has
considerable expertise in the design and development of collections of
non-conventional media, the immediate relationship between this type of
media and libraries is not always entirely clear. Drawing upon the
provided example, we are able to propose new lines of discourse and
potential avenues for exploration within the domain of library science,
particularly with regard to the potential and demands of this particular
collection and its application.
