Pan to the left to catch the eastbound Metra as it appears approaching the West Chicago diamonds. After it clears, wait a few seconds for the westbound UP SD70M to appear from the right. That's JB Tower straight ahead at the intersection of the UP Geneva sub and the CN Leithton sub.
Once again, the immersive 360 degree video only works with the Chrome desktop browser or the Android YouTube app. The Android app is cool to use as you can pan the scene by moving the phone or tablet. I still find the most entertainment by sitting in a swivel chair, holding my phone up and rotating the chair to follow the train or move around the scene.
I've been fiddling with this 360 degree video stuff to see what works. Best would have been a sunny day but that's not in the forecast for the next few days so it is what it is. This SP360 does not have much of a vertical reach below the horizontal. So I can't place it on a normal sized tripod close to the tracks and not expect the wheels of the train to be cut off. This was on one of my portable tripods. And was about 18 inches above the ground.
If you look away from the tracks, you may be able to see me waiting in my Honda Fit. The camera has an associated smartphone app that can control the camera. I was about 50 feet away and had a good connection except when a car would stop between myself and the camera.
I welcome your feedback!
