Traveling with...a minor child -Day Three Konoko Falls and Park, Ocho Rios

This is a travel vlog of that will vary from traveling with a child, to friends, significant others and extended family. This series will be traveling with a minor, my daughter is 10 years old so I like to make sure she can have just as much fun on the vacation as I do.

Our first port day was at Ocho Rios, Jamaica. We booked our excursions ahead of time, however it was cancelled due to not enough participation. This happened to me on a cruise I took earlier in the year as well, so just be aware of possible changes and roll with the punches. We found this alternative excursion and it turned out amazing! We went to Konoko Falls and Park, this was a whole experience. When we first arrived at the port, we walked down to a waiting area at the end of the dock that had all the excursions meeting up. Our excursion had transport to the Konoko Falls it was about a 5 minute drive to the falls. We arrived at the base of this beautiful water fall and was able to take a few pictures from the ground. You have the ability to opt out of climbing the waterfall and taking the stairs to the top. But I would encourage you to climb it! It is totally worth it, you will want to wear water shoes and if you are unable to climb and do higher energy activity this excursion might not be for you. It is about a 50 minute climb, and I do mean climb at some points.

Once we were at the top we got to look out at the look out point, which has views all the way out to the ship. After we stopped and took pictures at the look out we walked up a small hill to get to cafe where they give you a fresh fruit juice. You are also able to purchase food and drinks if you wish. We then went through a small zoo area to see native animals to the area, you also get to hold some if you are feeling daring. I held a ball python and my daughter got to hold a blue macaw. We also walked through a small museum to see some Jamaican history. Lastly we were led through a beautiful lush botanical garden to see native plants.

So the sudden change of plans turned out to be a better option, 10/10 would recommend.
