In this video, I’ll show you how I added a rate limiter to my React Native app that uses the OpenAI API to generate social icebreaker questions.
I walk you through the real-world problem: uncontrolled API usage that can burn through your OpenAI budget fast. So I built a serverless proxy API to secure my environment variables and added Upstash Redis rate limiting to keep costs under control and prevent abuse.
