Catching prawns, crabs and fish in Cà Mau - Vietnam

Le and I were invited down to Cà Mau to visit a family that follows us through social media to experience daily life with them. This was an absolutely amazing and humbling experience and definitely something we will never forget. They were such lovely people living a very simple life earning an income through aquaculture. Join us as we experience fishing and daily life with our new friends in Southern Vietnam.

Cà Mau, which is renowned for its high quality crab sauce and is one of Vietnam's biggest exporter of shrimp and prawns, is a province in the Mekong Delta region, in the southernmost part of Vietnam's mainland territory.

Being surrounded by water on three sides, fishing is an important industry in Cà Mau province. An extensive network of canals also supports a strong agricultural sector, as well as providing a popular means of transport.

Cà Mau has several attractions that draw domestic and international tourists. These include several wild bird parks, the southernmost point in Vietnam (called Mũi Cà Mau), and a number of pagodas. Near Cà Mau is the U Minh area with its famous mangrove forest and swamp cuisine: fish hot pots, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Khmer cuisines.
