What does independence mean to you?
For Alisha, Sarah, Will and Tom it means doing things on your own, starting your adult life, and being supported to do things for yourself.
These four young people live in two of our student houses while they go to college.
United Response supports young people with learning disabilities and autism to make the transition into adulthood by moving away from home and into transition houses in their local area.
We help the young people in our student houses with things like bills, managing a tenancy and household tasks like laundry and cooking.
They all attend college courses, and we're working with them to plan for their future - where they'll live, what job they'll have, and the hobbies they'll pursue.
