Voices for Justice Day 2: Honoring the Missing and Murdered Indigenous People Crisis
Presented by Osage News
"Voices for Justice" was a powerful two-day event hosted by Osage News to raise awareness about the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) across Indian Country. This moving gathering brought together tribal nations, law enforcement, and community advocates in a united stand against this ongoing tragedy.
Tribes from the Six Nations — Osage, Otoe-Missouria, Ponca, Pawnee, Kaw, and Tonkawa — came together in solidarity. We were honored by the presence and words of Osage Nation Principal Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear, ONPD Chief Nick Williams, Tara Gatewood, Olivia Gray, Oli Ramirez, Angela Pratt, Luella Brien, Allison Herrera, Angel Ellis, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, LaRenda Morgan, Osage County Sheriff Bart Perrier, and Dr. Melanie Fillmore.
Through personal testimonies, community dialogue, and heartfelt moments of remembrance, this event shed light on the devastating impact MMIP continues to have on Native families and communities. Tribal police officers and grassroots leaders also shared insight on the urgent need for justice, reform, and action.
At Osage News, we are committed to amplifying Indigenous voices and standing alongside families in the fight to end MMIP.
📌 Watch, share, and stand with us. Justice cannot wait.
