Dongshankou is an attraction located in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China. It is a historical commercial district and one of the central areas of Guangzhou. The history of this place dates back to the Qing Dynasty when it was a bustling commercial area that attracted many merchants and tourists to come for shopping and sightseeing. As time went by, Dongshankou gradually became one of the tourist attractions in Guangzhou. This place has many old buildings and cultural relics, such as the Guangzhou Uprising Memorial Hall, Guangdong Museum and Chen Family Ancestral Hall, to name a few. These cultural relics not only showcase the history and culture of the Guangdong region, but also provide visitors with an opportunity to learn about the history and culture of China.
As the saying goes, "If you have the money to live in Xiguan, you have the right to live in Dongshan", Dongshankou, as one of the classic old town areas in Guangzhou, China, was once a gathering place for overseas Chinese, rich merchants and dignitaries, and most of the residential buildings were Western-style garden villas. The five famous gardens in Dongshan - Kuiyuan, Chunyuan, Jinyuan, Mingyuan and Sumiyuan - are especially representative of the Dongshan foreign house complex and are still well preserved.
