This year at the traditional "John Williams, Maestro of the Movies" concerts at the Hollywood Bowl, the audience was treated with a tribute to the music Maestro Williams composed throughout the years for television programs of the US network NBC, which also included rarely performed pieces. One of them is "Wide Receiver," a rousing, brilliant march composed as the intro for the "Sunday Night Football" show. This stirring piece accompanies the heroic feats of football players as modern-day gladiators, with brass and percussion playing characteristic Williams fanfares and flourishes.
