welcome back to strawberry of the day, my excuse for a podcast where we talk self-compassionate self-development and whatever else is on my mind.
today i’m dragging a very popular mindset shift: the whole “don’t say i have to, say i get to” thing. in theory it’s cute. in practice… it low-key feels like “there are starving children so you should be grateful and stop complaining.”
in this episode, i break down:
why “i get to” can feel like forced gratitude + guilt
the reframe i’m using instead: “i want to ___ so that ___”
real examples (dishes, work, dyeing my eyebrows, making content)
how this tiny language shift connects to my bigger goal of not living in an excel sheet forever
a quick challenge for you to try this reframe in your own life
i also share a bit about my $11 course on rebuilding your life after a rough season — the tools and systems i used after my own crash-and-burn era (breakup, move, weight gain, mental breakdown, all of it).
✨ reframe of the day:
you don’t have to. you don’t just “get” to.
you want to — because of who you’re becoming on the other side.
if this episode helped, it would mean a lot if you liked the video, subscribed, or shared it with a friend who’s stuck in “i have to” mode.
