OP-1 Field Instrumental w/ Live Bass.

The Op-1 Field is quickly becoming my favorite piece of gear. The mic is incredible. The workflow is really not great for what I'm doing but I'm getting better at it. Didn't realize how inspiring this thing would be for songwriting.  

In this jam, I setup a drum pattern and ran it through CWO (the cow) which is like a delay and phaser in one. I recorded a few bars while adjusting the parameters which gave it the weird time stretching chaotic feel. This particular move introduced me to the idea that not everything has to be perfect when you lay it down. There are some things you just have to release to the universe and let go of. That's new to me. It's actually a great exercise for discovering new angles of writing and reprogramming your brain circuitry, almost like free writing. It's also really awkward and fun to be on camera. Midlife crisis? Maybe, but I'm getting jams out of it, so fuck it. It's all about the jams.
