I’ve been publishing a series about Nariño (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nariño_...) and its main tourist destinations. I want to show you this department in which international tourism is minimal today, but which is beautiful and has many things to do.
Nariño is one of the 32 departments of Colombia and is located in the southwest of the country. Nariño is the only department that shares the Pacific Ocean (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific..., the Amazon jungle (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_...) and part of the Andes Mountains (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andes) in its territory. In Nariño you find beach, mountains, canyons, volcanoes, lagoons and more.
The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Las Lajas (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Las_Laj...) is a basilica located in Ipiales Nariño (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipiales). Las Lajas is one of the most beautiful architectural works in Colombia and since 2007 it is considered one of the seven wonders of Colombia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_W....
The Sanctuary of Las Lajas is a destination of pilgrimage and tourism in Colombia very famous among the devout Catholics of the country. In addition, it is the most beautiful church in Colombia, it was built in the 20th century and its neo-Gothic architecture is something that is worth highlighting. It is approximately 100 meters high and has several artistic works made of flagstone.
